Solo Voice

There must have been a good deal of singing and acting,  dramas and presentations in the Crane household back in the late 1800’s.  Helen’s sister Elizabeth was a writer and a poetess. Brother Alexander’s two sons grew up to work in theater. So a creative house it was.

Here we have Helen’s contribution, her interpretation of poetic texts of the day.

Some of her marvelous writing for Solo Voice

Herbstlied (Autumn Song) op.5, no.3

Erkannt (Recognized) op.33, no.3

Content op. 73, no.1

So from this amazing spectrum of her work we have pulled together her music for Solo Voice with piano accompaniment. Two collections, Book One mostly German and the other: all English; quite a broad spectrum of styles and moods.
